The first week of service with Frontier Waste Solutions began June 30, according to the city’s website.
Schertz residents will have garbage picked up once per week, with recycling and bulk/brush pickup once every other week. The week of June 30 through July 4 was an “A” week, and the week of July 7 through July 11 will be a “B” week, with different customers having recycling and bulk/brush picked up on those weeks, according to the city's website.
Household Hazardous Waste pickups are available once a month by request according to the city’s website. Items available to be picked up include insecticides, fertilizers, automotive products, electronics and car batteries.
The city transitioned from Republic Services to Frontier Waste Solutions, following an agreement approved by Schertz City Council on April 1. Monthly cost for services increased from $14.46 to $19.20.
What else?
Requests for additional carts, as well as reports for lost, missing or stolen carts will begin to be accepted on July 25, according to the city’s website. Residents can find out when they receive trash, recycling and bulk pickup services by typing in their address using the city's interactive Schertz Residential Trash Schedule map.
