Angela Green, Erin Perez and Aaron Dahl were sworn in representing places 1, 3 and 5 respectively. Green replaces the departing Mendell Morgan as Place 1 council member.
There were 905 votes cast in council elections throughout six different precincts. Perez and Dahl were also sworn in after their respective re-elections to council in Place 3 and Place 5. Dahl ran in the May 3 election unopposed, while Perez received 249 votes, or 70.34% of votes, against challenger Alexandra McPherson, who received 105 votes, or 29.66%, according to the city secretary's office.

Green has been a resident of Live Oak since 2004 and has served Live Oak in a multitude of positions, according to the city's website.
While in the city, she has been the vice president of the Live Oak Citizens Assisting Police organization, and has served on Parks and Recreation Commission, Economic Development Corporation and Zoning Board of Adjustment.
Green said she was excited.
“This is an honor and a privilege to serve the city of Live Oak," she said.
What else?
Morgan, who served on council for 11 years, was recognized by the city and the state of Texas for his work.
The departing council member and 2024 Texas Library Association Librarian of the Year was given a Texas Flag certificate for his service from the office of Rep. John Lujan. Morgan also received a signed Honorary Admiral of the Texas Navy certificate from the office of Gov. Greg Abbott.
Morgan thanked Live Oak residents who first trusted him with their vote and supported him on various issues.
“It has been an amazing decade of really unprecedented opportunity and growth,” Morgan said.
