The breakdown
According to canvassed votes, a total of 910 ballots were cast during the runoff, with Guerrero receiving 463 votes, representing 50.88% of total votes. Dusek received 447 votes, or 49.12% of total votes.
Guerrero will serve the remainder of the term previously held by Tiffany Gibson, who resigned in September. The term is set to end in 2026.
In a candidate questionnaire prior to the election, Guerrero told Community Impact his top priorities would be ensuring the effectiveness and quality of first responders, and a focus on the infrastructure budget for road improvements.
