Bexar County residents living outside of the city of San Antonio can apply for utility assistance through the Residential Energy Assistance Partnership.

What you need to know

This program is available to residents who have at least one household member who meets one of the following requirements:
  • Disabled
  • Under the age of 16
  • Over the age of 60
Alongside these requirements, residents must meet the income guidelines, which are set at 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. According to the program website, a family of four making at or below $46,800 would qualify.

Online applications for the program have been suspended until further notice, according to the program website.


Those interested in applying can schedule an appointment by calling 210-335-3666. Appointments are limited and will only be given on Mondays.

For residents who have received assistance from the program, the reset date is Dec. 31, meaning those residents will have to reapply for assistance.
