Cibolo City Council on March 12 authorized the city manager to enter a contract with JMO Modular LLC for a modular office for the Animal Services Department.

City Council also authorized the city manager to enter a contract with Horizon Structures LLC for a portable kennel structure.

The details

The total cost of the modular office is around $160,000, while the cost for the portable kennel structure is around $71,000.

According to documents submitted to the City Council, both projects will be funded by a grant fund through the American Rescue Plan Act, which was awarded to cities for economic relief in 2021.

What’s next?

While these structures will help the Animal Services Department, city staff and administration are working on a bond proposal for the November election that would see the construction of a new facility for animal services and a new public safety facility.

Mayor Mark Allen said if the new animal services facility is constructed, the modular office could potentially be repurposed for other uses.

Information on the proposed bond can be found here.
