Due to the inclement weather and road conditions, Republic Services and Waste Management closed and did not run services Jan. 15.

What residents should know

Following the closure, Republic Services collection services will be pushed back by one day for the remainder of the week, meaning that collection services scheduled for Jan. 15 will be on Jan. 16 and so on.

Republic services collect for the cities of Schertz, Cibolo, Selma and Garden Ridge, meaning residents of all of these cities will have altered collection days.

For Universal City residents, Waste Management also closed Jan. 15. Residents who had collection on the closed day may pick up two pink tags for additional trash bags that may not fit in the bins.

These tags can be used to add up to two additional bags to the Thursday collection.

The complementary tags can be picked up at the Water Billing Office, located at 2150 Universal City Blvd., Universal City. Tags need to be picked up by Jan. 17 at 5 p.m. Proof of address will be required.

For residents with collection on other days of the week, collection should operate on a regular schedule.

Due to the weather conditions, Universal City offices will not open until Jan. 16 at 10 a.m.
