Universal City City Council on Dec. 19 approved the execution of a task order agreement with HDR Engineering for the engineering and design of 10 streets.

According to the document submitted to council, the services will cost approximately $556,382. Street projects outlined in the document will be funded through bonds residents approved in 2022.

The total amount of bonds approved was $30 million, which would be used for roads, bridges and sidewalks related projects.

On Sept. 19, City Council approved an ordinance authorizing $6 million of bond funds to be used for Phase 1 of the improvements.

The project


The project consists of the reconstruction of 10 streets, including:
  • Churchwood
  • Crosswood Drive
  • Gamblewood
  • Inkswood
  • Logswood
  • Medicine Rock
  • Old Converse Road
  • Persia Drive
  • Travis Drive
  • West Wright Boulevard
According to the agreement, the streets will be designed in their existing configuration with improvements to curb and gutter, sidewalks, driveway reconstruction where necessary, and roadway improvements.
