Gibson assumed the role following taking the majority vote in the runoff election on Dec. 9.
Election results show Gibson received 259 votes, or 59.68% of the total votes. Candidate Michael Armstrong received 175, or 40.32% of votes.
The Place 4 seat was formerly held by Michael Dahle, who served on city council for four years.

During the meeting, Gibson said she is thankful for the support of the voters and the community, and she looks forward to serving on the council.
“There is not a vote that I will take lightly,” Gibson said. “I will speak loudly and proudly, and I thank [voters] very much.”
