The order states the reasons for lifting the ban are due to the “considerable amount of rainfall” throughout the county and the Texas Forest Service determining drought conditions have been significantly reduced.
The context
On July 12, a burn ban was implemented in the unincorporated areas of Guadalupe County. This ban was set to expire on Oct. 9 but was extended by Commissioners Court on Sept. 26. With the extension, the ban was set to expire in January.
While the ban was lifted, it is recommended that people use caution and exercise safe practices when burning.
