According to the hearing notice, the proposed tax rate for the fiscal year is $0.4699 per $100, which is a 2.81% decrease from the previous rate.
Despite the rate decreasing, officials estimate about $14.97 million in taxes levied from all properties within the city. This is a 12.04% increase compared to taxes levied in FY 2022-23, according to the notice.
The general fund of the proposed budget is expected to receive about $23.26 million in revenue and have about $23.04 million in expenses, according to the proposed budget.
Prior to approving the budget, public hearings must be conducted to give residents an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed budget and tax rate.
The public hearing will be held at Noble Group Event Center, located at 203 S. Main St., Cibolo. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
