The city of Live Oak and Mayor Mary M. Dennis will host an open house April 23 regarding the upcoming roads, bridges and sidewalks bond, which will be voted on in the May 7 election.

This $18 million bond is planned for the repair and maintenance of streets within the city. Street priorities have been set by the city with arterial roads such as O’Connor Road, Toepperwein Road and Judson Road being the first priority under the bond.

During the open house, residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and get a better understanding on the financial impact of the bond and other concerns.

The open house will run from 11 a.m. to noon located at the City Council Chamber, 8001 Shin Oak Drive, Live Oak.

To help share information with voters, the city created a webpage for the bond, which breaks down the tax impact and highlights other road priorities.

Early voting for the May 7 election will begin April 25.
