On March 8, the city of Garden Ridge will conduct a public hearing on the draft zoning ordinance.

This ordinance was last discussed in September and makes changes to the zoning dimensions regulations table. Rules regarding the storage and use of vehicles and equipment in residential zoning districts are also listed within the proposed ordinance.

According to language in the ordinance, the changes will help lessen the congestion in the streets, prevent overcrowding of land and help protect public health, safety and welfare within the city. The changes in the ordinance are made to be consistent with the comprehensive plan.

The public hearing will take place during the Garden Ridge Planning and Zoning Commission regular meeting, which will begin at 6 p.m. and is located at 9400 Municipal Parkway, Garden Ridge.

More information on the ordinance changes can be found on the city website.
