Each year, the city of Schertz hosts the Hal Baldwin Scholarship Golf Tournament to raise money for the Hal Baldwin Scholarship.
The overview
The 14th annual tournament will be held on Nov. 15 at the Olympia Hills Golf Course and Event Center.
Funds from the event support the Hal Baldwin Scholarship, which is awarded to students attending a school in Schertz who are pursuing a public service career path.
According to the city website, Hal Baldwin served the city for around 30 years, holding positions as assistant city manager, civic volunteer, City Council member and mayor.
The tournament is open to businesses and individuals, with pricing options for sponsorship opportunities, teams of four or individual registration.
Applications for the scholarship open in the spring, and information will be posted to the city website.
