Schertz residents can get rid of household waste not covered under normal collection services starting Oct. 12.

The overview

Each year, the city of Schertz hosts a clean-up event in the Fall to give residents an opportunity to get rid of waste.

Disposal is limited to household and yard waste, and residents can only dispose of two pickup truck loads or one 16-foot-long and 4-foot-high trailer load.

Residents will be required to have a current Schertz utility bill and identification available to dispose of waste during the event.

What else?

On Oct. 26-27, residents can dispose of hazardous waste, which includes tires, chemicals, enamel and latex paints and other waste.
