Universal City residents looking to get rid of household waste will have two weekends in October for dumping.

The details

The cleanup will be held Oct. 17-20 and Oct. 24-27 for household waste collection.

Collection is limited to Universal City residents only, and proof of residency will be required.

No tube-type televisions or computer monitors will be accepted. No tires will be accepted attached to rims or wheels.


This year, hazardous waste collection will be accepted during all days of the clean-up event.

Pesticides and herbicides will not be accepted, with the list of acceptable items including:
  • Wet cell (auto) batteries
  • Passenger and light truck tires (rims must be removed)
  • Pool chemicals
  • Household cleaners
  • Paint, thinner, lacquer, anti-freeze
  • Standard ammunition
  • Brake and transmission fluid
Waste can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and designated days at the public works building, located at 265 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City. Additional information can be found here.
