Throughout the month of July, the city of Schertz Parks and Recreation Department will host two events each week in celebration of Park and Recreation month. On each Tuesday and Thursday, events will be held at different parks within the city. The event series will kick off with a field day at Woodland Oaks Park. All events are free to attend.

Join the city of Schertz for an evening gazing at the stars. This event is a partnership between the city and the San Antonio Astronomical Association. Telescopes will be provided by members of SAAA.

Each year, Universal City hosts a casino night fundraiser to support a local nonprofit organization. The event will feature casino games including blackjack, poker, roulette and more. Alongside the games, gourmet appetizers and drinks will be available. Funds will support the Universal City Citizens Police Academy.

Cibolo Summer Nights
The final event of the Cibolo Summer Nights event series will offer the community a chance to beat the summer heat with a splash bash. The event will feature a bubble machine, inflatable water games and the Cibolo Fire Department spraying the field.

Caleb Young and Payton Riley perform at Blue Bonnet Palace in Selma. Young has been performing since 2015, playing a blend of country music with southern rock. Riley performs original country music, and was the youngest-ever winner for the Texas Country Music Association's 'Young Artist of the Year.'

City of Schertz staff invite the community to celebrate National Watermelon Day by swimming with watermelons at Pickrell Park Pool. The event will feature watermelons floating in the pool, a watermelon drop and watermelon-themed activities.
