Each year, the Live Oak Fire Department hosts a Holiday Food Basket Drive assisting families in need of food.

Get involved

For this drive, the department is requesting donations of canned and nonperishable food items.

The list of acceptable items includes:
  • Water
  • Juice
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruits
  • Pasta
  • Pasta sauce
  • Oatmeal
  • Instant potatoes
  • Beans
  • Cereal
  • Snacks
  • Broth
  • And other packaged products

Firefighters will deliver the food baskets to recipients during December.


Throughout the drive, food can be dropped off in the fire department lobby located at 8001 Shin Oak Drive, Live Oak. Drop-off hours are weekdays from 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. The deadline to donate is Dec. 1 at 5 p.m.
