Universal City residents can get rid of household and hazardous waste during the Fall Cleanup event.

Accepted items at the event include furniture; appliances; electronics, though no tube TVs or computer monitors; mattresses; yard waste; and other household items.

Hazardous waste will also be accepted every day of the event, with accepted waste including:
  • Oil filters
  • Wet cell, or auto, batteries
  • Passenger and light truck tires. Rims must be removed.
  • Pool chemicals
  • Household cleaners
  • Paint, thinner, lacquer and anti-freeze
  • Standard ammunition
  • Brake and transmission fluid
Proof of residency will be required, and no commercial dumping will be accepted. No tube type televisions, computer monitors, or tires attached to rims or wheels will be accepted.

While Public Works will not be collecting brush, free chipping services are available during the cleanup event by appointment. The deadline to schedule an appointment is Oct. 20.
