Leading up to the annular solar eclipse, the Schertz Public Library will host the ​​Don’t be in the Dark Solar Eclipse Program that will focus on solar-themed readings, activities and crafts.

During this event, glasses to view the solar eclipse will be given to attendees age 4 and older.

The San Antonio area will see two eclipses in a six-month period, with the annular eclipse passing through Oct. 14 around 11:50 a.m., according to the NASA website. A total solar eclipse will pass through on April 8.

According to the library website, glasses for viewing will be available on the day of the annular eclipse.
