The Reality Education for Drivers program is coming to Selma on Aug. 12.

This program aims to save lives through education on speeding, impaired driving, distracted driving and seatbelt misuse, according to the program website.

The RED program is offered by the Brazos Valley Injury Prevention Coalition and Statewide Initiatives, through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and with the support of the Texas Department of Transportation.

Soon-to-be drivers, young drivers and experienced adult drivers are welcome to participate in the program.

Due to limited seating, advanced registration is required. Participants who finish the program will receive a certificate of completion that may be presented for community service hours credit and possible insurance premium discounts.
