Four barbecue categories will be judged, which includes brisket, chicken, ribs and Cook’s Choice. A dessert category will also be added this year.
The event serves as a fundraiser for local charities and to offer scholarships for Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD students.
Barbecue cookoffs will be held April 29, and the dessert competition will be held April 28. Alongside the April 29 competition, there will be a cornhole tournament, a 5K and other activities for attendees to participate in.
Wristbands will be available for $15 at the event, which includes three vote tokens for the people’s choice award. The wristband allows attendees to sample contestants' food.
Activities will be held in the parking lot of Santikos Entertainment Cibolo, 18124 I-35, Cibolo. A full itinerary and additional information can be found here.
