Visit San Antonio will partner with The Harp and Shamrock Society of Texas to host various free activities for St. Patrick’s Day.

To kick off St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the San Antonio River Walk will be dyed green March 17.

The dying is sponsored by MadDogs, and from 1-3 p.m. 25-gallons of eco-friendly green dye will transform the River Walk into the River Shannon.

This activity is also scheduled for March 18 from 11 a.m.-noon at Museums Reach and from 1-3 p.m. downtown.

Live entertainment and the Bud Light St. Patrick’s Festival will be held March 17 and 18 at La Villita Historic Village.

The festival will feature family-friendly activities, live entertainment, vendors and more. March 17 activities will be held from 3-8 p.m., and March 18 activities will be held from 1-6 p.m.

The final event of the evening will be the Bud Light St. Patrick’s River Parade, which will have a procession of 12 Irish-themed floats filled with Irish entertainment.

Guests can watch the parade from anywhere along the parade route, and two parades will be held March 18.

The first parade will be held at Museum Reach from 2-3 p.m., and the second parade will be held downtown from 5-6 p.m.

The parade route can be found here. Admission to all activities is free.
