The city of Schertz Parks and Recreation will be hosting the Nature Discovery Series beginning Feb. 11.

This event encourages elementary-age children to explore, discover and ask questions to learn more about nature.

Texas Master Naturalist volunteers will lead the themed programs, which will take place on the second Saturday of each month through November.

While the program is designed for families with elementary-age children, older and younger siblings are welcome.

The February program will be themed around recycling and preserving water.

Preregistration for the event is required, and parents who wish to stay with the children must register themselves. Registration is free and can be found here.

The walks will take approximately one hour, and guests are encouraged to arrive between 9:30-10 a.m.

The Nature Discovery Series will be held at Crescent Bend Nature Park, 12805 West Schaefer Road, Schertz.
