The Universal City Pumpkin Patch returns Oct. 8 with a variety of activities and special events for the family to enjoy.

The pumpkin patch serves as a fundraiser for various organizations around the community and offers a different event on weekends.

This year, events will include hayrides, food vendors, a fall fair, wine on the vine, and a trunk or treat event to conclude the month.

On Oct. 8, Community Heroes Day will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and will include a visit with UCPD officers and UCFD firefighters, a fire-prevention show featuring Ace the Fire Dog and more.

Guests can visit the patch from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. (Fri.-Sun.) and 3-7 p.m. (Mon.-Thu.) weather permitting. Patch admission is free. Universal City Municipal Building, 2150 Universal City Blvd., Universal City. 210-659-0333
