As part of National Child Abuse Awareness Month, the city of Schertz will be participating in the ChildSafe Carboard Kids Campaign.
This campaign invites locals to pick up a cardboard kid and decorate it to be displayed in the city, which helps encourage conversations about child abuse and neglect, and its impacts on the community.
Cardboard kids can be picked up at the Schertz Police Department, located at 1400 Schertz Parkway, Bldg. 6, Schertz. Pickup is available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
All decorated cardboard kids must be back at the department no later than March 31. On April 5, Schertz City Council will reveal the display.
