Four City Council seats were on the ballot for Cibolo voters. Place 1 and Place 4 are single-member districts limited to residents within those districts, while Place 5 and Place 6 are newly created at-large districts representing all Cibolo residents.
The breakdown
In the Place 1 race, Jeff McGlothin led early vote totals with 65% of votes, while Incumbent T.G. Benson received 35% of early votes.
For Place 4, Incumbent Katie Cunningham received 72% of early votes and Teresa Derksen received 28%.
For at-large Place 5, Incumbent Norma Sanchez Stephens received 53% of early votes. Donetta Roberts leads early vote totals for Place 6 with 32% of votes.
What else?
According to the Cibolo Code of Ordinances, a candidate must receive at least 50% of votes before being sworn into office. If the election results show that no candidate has reached 50% of votes, then a runoff election will be held between the top two vote getters.
