Norma Sanchez Stephens received the most votes for Cibolo City Council District 5 during the May 6 election.

Sanchez Stephens received 283 votes, or 51.36%, which means a runoff election is not needed for the seat.

Jeff McGlothlin received 181votes, or 32.85%, and Shari McDaniel received 57, or 10.34%, and Joe Potts received 30, or 5.44%.

In an April 10 Q&A, Sanchez Stephens, a group fitness instructor and former mortgage loan officer, said her goals will be to advocate for responsible business growth, help lower property taxes, improve road and water infrastructure, and support emergency services with staffing and resources.

The District 5 seat was left vacant when Mark Allen was elected mayor in January. Sanchez Stephens will be sworn in following the canvassing of votes and will finish the term left by Allen, which expires in November 2024.
