According to unofficial results, nearly 60% of Judson ISD voters approved both propositions that make up a more than $345.3 million bond focused on school safety and security.

For Proposition A, which is focused on district safety and security, 18,647 people, or 59.26%, voted for the measure, and another 12,817 people, or 40.74%, voted against it.

Proposition B, focused on the construction of two new campuses and acquiring new buses for the district, drew 18,364 votes for the measure, or 57.69%, versus 13,468 votes, or 42.31%, against it.

The $345.3 million bond will result in an estimated $0.01 tax rate increase, according to school district trustees.

Previously, Trustee José Macias told Community Impact that district officials cannot wait to address student needs and safety and that the bond election is in response to the school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, which left 19 children and two teachers dead.
