The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 8 election is Oct. 11. Those unsure of their registration status can visit the Texas Secretary of State website.

Registration applications and information can be found on the Bexar, Comal and Guadalupe county elections websites. Applications must be mailed or delivered in person to the appropriate voting center.

Voter registration eligibility laws require applicants to:
  • be a United States citizen;
  • be a resident of the county where you submit the application;
  • be at least 17 years and 10 months old on the date the voter registration application is submitted, and 18 years of age on Election Day;
  • not be a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole); and
  • have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
Federal, state and local races will be on the November ballot with Bexar and Guadalupe counties having races for county judge; Schertz and Cibolo holding races for mayor and city council positions; Universal City proposing a $30 million bond; and Judson ISD proposing a $345 million bond.

Early voting begins Oct. 24 and runs through Nov. 4. Election day is Nov. 8.
