On June 5, the Judson ISD board of trustees approved Eric Pawkett and Elizardo Hernandez to serve as the new principals of Judson High School and Judson CARE Academy, respectively.

Pawkett and Hernandez will be replacing Joe Gutierrez and Ricci Bethely-Day in their respective roles.

The overview

Pawkett is currently an associate principal at Judson High School and has 18 years of education experience. Pawkett served as an academic dean, assistant principal and instructional coach, according to the district's website.

Pawkett graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio and has lived in the San Antonio area for over 20 years.

Hernandez has worked in JISD since 2017 and worked as an assistant principal at Judson CARE Academy, according to the district's website.
