What you need to know
Trustees are elected for four-year terms, and the seats up for election are single-member districts, meaning only residents of those districts can cast a vote for the respective board seat. A map of the district can be found here.
The following seats are up for election in May:
- District 2, held by Stephanie Faulkner
- District 3, held by Debra Eaton
- District 4, held by José A. Macias Jr.
- District 5, held by Arnoldo Salinas
Applications to be a candidate on the ballot are open through Feb. 14. As of publication time, Macias and Salinas have filed applications to run for reelection, according to the district’s website.
For voters, the last day to register to vote in the election is April 3. Voter registration and information can be found on the Texas Secretary of State website. Early voting is scheduled for April 22-29.
