Spring Break for the 2024-25 school year has been moved up a week for Judson ISD, following approval from the board of trustees on June 25.

What you need to know

The board of trustees approved changing the spring break dates from March 17-21 to March 10-14. This change was done to align the district’s break with the dates of the Northeast Lakeview College spring break.

Superintendent Milton “Rob” Fields III said the change was to ensure that all students within the district would have spring break at the same time since the Judson Early College Academy's instructional calendar matches the college's.

“We’ve in the past have had spring break different from Northeast Lakeview,” Fields said. “It presented a big problem because we still had to have transportation come in and pick up the students and take them home throughout the day.”

Fields said that the break dates were originally in line with the college’s, but those dates were changed.

District staff said the proposed change was sent to district employees and received 1,421 responses with 65% indicating they would like the spring break to line up with the college’s. The updated instructional calendars can be found here.
