The details

Northeast Lakeview College in 2023 announced a partnership with Bezos Academy, creating a space in the college for a tuition-free preschool.

The preschool will follow a full-day, year-round schedule, and operating expenses, including meals, will be covered by Bezos Academy.

To be eligible for the 2024-25 school year, children must be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2024, with a birthdate between Sept. 2, 2019, and Sept. 1, 2021. Children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2024, will not be eligible, according to the academy website.

Families earning up to 400% of the federal poverty level with children ages 3-4 are eligible to apply, which includes families of four earning up to $124,800 per year, according to the academy website.

The school will operate off a lottery system, which will give preference to children who are experiencing homelessness, living in foster care, siblings of Bezos Academy students, children of Bezos Academy employees and students transferring from another Bezos Academy location.

The application deadline is July 14, and families will be notified of their status by July 17. Application information can be found here.
