The Judson ISD academic calendar for the 2024-25 school year was approved by the board of trustees during the Jan. 18 meeting.

What parents should know

The 173-day calendar begins the school year on Aug. 14 and has the final day of school scheduled for May 29.

Student and staff breaks include:

• Thanksgiving break: Nov. 25-29
• Winter break: Dec. 23-Jan. 8 (staff return Jan. 3)
• Spring break: March 17-21

Alongside these breaks, students and staff will have other days off throughout the school year, including:

• Sept. 2
• Oct. 14
• Nov. 11
• Jan. 20
• Feb. 17
• April 18
• May 2
• May 26

There are also six days planned as student holidays that will serve as staff prep and planning days or as staff development days, including Oct. 11, Nov. 5, Jan. 6-7, Feb. 10 and April 21.

Two of these six days—Feb. 10 and April 21—will serve as flex days, meaning they can either be student holidays as scheduled or can be used to makeup days missed due to weather conditions.

What else?

Four early release days are also planned. These days are scheduled before breaks on Nov. 22, Dec. 20 and March 14 as well as on the final day of school, May 29.
