This event recognizes military veterans from the community, featuring teachers, staff, parents, community members and trustees who served, according to an Oct. 23 news release.
“This is a simple token of our appreciation to veterans who have served our country,” said Triva Corrales, executive director of athletics, in the release. “What these men and women have sacrificed for us is invaluable. We want to ensure that our Judson ISD community knows the district is a staunch supporter of all our military families.”
The football game will see the Judson Rockets face the New Braunfels Unicorns, and the first 500 people who enter the stadium will receive a commemorative dog tag, according to the release.
Prior to the game, selected veterans will have an on-field recognition, and the All Veteran Group will parachute onto the field to present the colors.
Throughout the game, attendees can donate to Operation Comfort, which is a nonprofit organization with the goal of promoting an inclusive and positive environment where wounded, ill and injured service members of all service branches, active-duty and disabled veterans and their caregiver can improve their physical and mental health according to the organization’s website.
