According to Schertz officials, Baldwin served as an assistant city manager, civic volunteer, city councilman and mayor for nearly 17 years.
This scholarship is directed at high school seniors to encourage a career in public service. The scholarship may be used for tuition or other fees or expenses for any accredited postsecondary school that offers courses, degrees or other training suitable to a public service career.
Students interested in the scholarship will need to submit a resume, two statements, two essays, letters of recommendation and attend City Council meetings.
Applications must be received in the City Manager’s Office by April 28 at 5 p.m. Applications and more information on the scholarship can be found on the city website.
