The splash pad project began in October, replacing the pool that was at the park, which will allow for a longer operating season. With the splash pad, the operating season will be from March through October.
Alongside the splash pad, additional park improvements were made that include new sod and irrigation, new trees, new fencing, basketball goals, and a swing set with integrated shade. Courts at the park were also repainted.
The restroom for the park is undergoing renovations, which will bring the facility into Americans with Disabilities Act compliance. During construction, a temporary restroom trailer is in place.
Wendy Swan Memorial Park is located at 4601 Cherry Tree Drive, Schertz, and the splash pad is open daily from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
