A new Baptist Neighborhood Hospital opened in Converse on July 17. Located at 6491 Woodlake Parkway, Converse, the new hospital is the ninth Neighborhood Hospital under the Baptist Health System.

According to a July 10 release, Baptist Neighborhood Hospitals are small format facilities that offer similar service lines as traditional hospitals, but with a smaller footprint.

Services provided to at the Converse location include:
  • Radiology services: CT and X-ray and ultrasound procedures
  • In-house lab services: allows expedited results. Standard tests can be run such as pregnancy, strep throat, CBC panels, EKG and cardiac enzyme analysis, liver panel, metabolic profiles, and urinalysis.
  • Emergency services: all types of emergencies treated
  • Other services offered include: adult and pediatric advanced cardiac life support and EKG and thrombolytic therapy for acute heart attack
  • Ambulance arrivals
The 9,933-square-foot location will have 10 patient rooms comprising nine exam rooms and a triage room.

Baptist Neighborhood Hospitals began in San Antonio in 2011 and now includes hospitals in Westover Hills, Kelly, Schertz, Thousand Oaks, Hausman, Overlook, and Zarzamora, as well as emergency departments in Shavano Park and Converse.

To date, more than one million patients have gone through the doors of the neighborhood hospitals in San Antonio, according to the release.
