The splash pad will replace the pool that was at the park, which will allow for a longer operating season.
According to city of Schertz staff, it is possible for the splash pad to be open from March to October rather than a normal operating season of Memorial Day through August.
The cost savings from the closure of the pool and pool staffing will be used to pay back the reserves for the construction of the splash pad.
The splash pad is anticipated to open in the spring of 2023.
