To celebrate the trail opening, City Council, staff and other leaders held a dedication for the project, which was a joint effort between the city and The Presidio Group, which developed the Vista Ridge subdivision. Avenue 16 was the contractor for the project.
This trail will connect to a future trail running from Avery Road to Woodcrest Park. According to city staff, the new connecting trail will measure out to an additional 2,500 linear feet for walking and biking.
The goal is to have the Woodcrest Trail completed by the end of the year.
