The animal shelter in the city of Cibolo currently has 12 kennels for dogs, leaving little room for additional intake and holding of stray animals.

In November, City Council solicited proposals for consulting services to address future needs for the shelter.

City Council on March 14 approved a consulting contract between the city of Cibolo and Quorum Architects Inc. for professional consulting services for a future needs assessment and recommendations for improvements to the animal shelter.

The firm will evaluate the shelter and come up with options for the city to pursue.

The findings are expected to be presented to council June 22, where council will decide on plans to move forward with the best option that works best for the needs of the shelter.
