The deadline for filing for a place on the ballot for the May 6 local election is Feb. 17.

For Judson ISD, trustee districts 1, 6 and 7—which are held by Suzanne Kenoyer, Renée A. Paschall and Rafael Diaz Martinez Jr., respectively—will be up for election in May.

District 1 is a single-member district, and applicants must reside in the district. Districts 6 and 7 are at-large districts, meaning applicants must reside within the attendance boundaries of the district.

Universal City will have three council positions on the ballot, which are held by William Shelby, Richard “Dick” Neville and Bear Goolsby.

All seats of the Universal City City Council are at large, meaning any resident within the city can apply.

The city of Cibolo will hold a special election for District 5, following former Council Member Mark Allen being sworn in as the new mayor.

In Selma, applicants can apply for council member places 4, 5 and 6 which are held by Kevin Hadas, Jim Parma and Ken Polasek, respectively.

The city of Live Oak will have an election for council places 1, 3 and 5, held by Mendell D. Morgan Jr., Erin Perez and Aaron Dahl, respectively.

Applications are due by 5 p.m.

The last day to register to vote in the May election is April 6, and the last day to apply for a ballot by mail is April 25.
