Cibolo resident Linda Tudyk on Dec. 7 was recognized as the Alamo Area Council of Governments 2022 Regional Citizen of the Year.

This award is to honor individuals who have contributed to the betterment of the AACOG region and demonstrate a dedication to the region through activities outside the scope of their employment, according to the AACOG.

According to a Dec. 7 release from AACOG, Tudyk has been instrumental in the opening of the Cibolo Senior Center in 2022.

Tudyk has been on the sub committee for the development of the senior center since the proposal in 2020.

By bringing insight of other senior offerings around the area, Tudyk helped arrange meetings and gather information to push the project forward.

Following the agreement from City Council to rent the Grange Hall and partner with the Comal County Senior Center Foundation, Tudyk helped obtain the usage of a storage closet at Marion Dolford School and helped find CSC Director Stephanie Whitson.

According to the release, the success of the senior center can be attributed to Tudyk and her dedication to the project.

“Ms. Tudyk has been at the senior center every day since its opening to ensure seniors feel welcome and included and assist in the day-to-day operations,” the release stated. “Without Ms. Tudyk, there would be no senior center.”
