Officials with the city of Schertz on Aug. 9 announced the opening of the Schertz Community Tool Shed.

The Community Tool Shed was created by the Schertz Neighborhood Services Division, and the service allows the community to use a collection of hand- and gas-powered tools to clean and improve their properties.

Tools in the shed include a lawn mower, a string trimmer, loppers, electric loppers, a pole saw, a digging shovel, fa lat shovel, a leaf rake, a garden rake, a leaf blower and pruning shears.

Community members who wish to donate tools to the Community Tool Shed can contact Neighborhood Services Manager Rebecca Vera at [email protected]. Donated tools must be lightly used and in good condition.

Additional information on how to check tools out will be posted on the Neighborhood Services Division website.
