The city of Cibolo named Bruce Knott as its new human resources director, according to a news release on the city’s website.

Knott was chosen out of more than 40 applicants for the role, according to the release. He is expected to start on May 23.

“It’s an honor to have been chosen to serve the city of Cibolo staff, residents and community,” Knott said in the release. “I am excited to join the dedicated team of this growing city and look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work on all aspects of people programs and the needs of Team Cibolo."

Knott previously served as the executive director of human resources and facilities for the San Antonio River Authority. He spent 10 years with the SARA, and in that time he worked to “improve safety, talent management, and compensation and benefits for all employees," the release stated.

Knott is also a veteran, having served with the U.S. Air Force from 1986-2006, during which time he also worked in HR and talent management, the release stated. He was also an adjunct professor for Virginia College, where he taught and mentored business students.

Knott will lead Cibolo’s HR department, which manages the city’s workforce through “the attraction, selection, training, engagement, assessment and recognition of employees,” the release stated.

“I am excited to work with Mr. Knott to enhance employee engagement to help our employees be successful and, in turn, for the organization to better serve our community,” Cibolo City Manager Wayne Reed said in the news release.
