The city of Cibolo announced Feb. 16 that nominations for the Gary Kelly Community Service Award are being accepted.

The award was named in honor and memory of Gary Kelly, who served on city commissions, committees and council with a dedication to make a positive difference in Cibolo.

According to the city, this award is given each year to an individual who has demonstrated exemplary volunteer service to the community.

Those nominated must be a resident of the city, and nominations must have 500 words or less explaining why that nominee is deserving of the award.

Nominations will be accepted until March 11, and the selected individual will be honored at the March 22 council meeting.

Nominations can be emailed to City Secretary Peggy Cimics, [email protected].
