$12M business complex under construction in New Braunfels

A new business complex—named Sunstorm Business Complex—is under construction in New Braunfels at 8081 Old Bastrop Road.

Project details

The $12 million business complex is being developed by Buttrum Construction, Inc. Sunstorm Business Complex broke ground in March and will be approximately 435,600 square-feet, Kathaleen Lookadoo, Chief of Operations and Development for Buttrum Construction, said in an email to Community Impact.


The development will have 54 business warehouse spaces along with 5 acres of land leases.

Sprouts Farmers Market coming soon to New Braunfels

An organic supermarket chain is planning to make its debut in New Braunfels soon.


Latest update

A Sprouts Farmers Market is being constructed within the Creekside Town Center development at 275 Creekside Crossing in New Braunfels. The supermarket will be located next to HomeGoods.

NewQuest, a Houston-based commercial real estate agency, is developing the project.

NewQuest Senior Vice President Nick Ramsey told Community Impact that this will be the chain's first location in Comal County. The grocer is targeting an opening date of early 2026.

Santikos planning new theater, retail space in North San Antonio

Santikos Entertainment is planning a new theater and retail development in North San Antonio.

What you need to know


According to a real estate release from Santikos, it will be located at the corner of Trinity Park and Hwy. 281 near the Timberwood Park area.

Santikos real estate officials told Community Impact that the project is planning on a completion date sometime in 2027, but plans are still “fluid.”

Boerne City Council accepts Quinten Scott’s resignation


Boerne City Council accepted the resignation of Quinten Scott on July 22, following his announcement July 8.

What’s happening

Since there are fewer than 12 months left in Scott’s term, City Council will appoint a new member to fill the vacancy, per the city charter.

Scott on July 8 announced his resignation from City Council. Scott said his reason for leaving was due to moving to a new home outside of city limits, which would require resignation to be in line with the city charter.

A new Tex-Mex restaurant has opened on Pat Booker Road in Universal City.

La Finca Tex-Mex Restaurant opened in Universal City customers at 1421 Pat Booker Road July 23, according to the restaurant's Facebook page. The restaurant, taking the place of previous tenant La Fiesta Patio Cafe, is owned by Gerardo Morin who also worked as a chef at La Fiesta.
