The Texas Department of Transportation announced a series of highway lane closures as part of its I-35 Northeast Expansion project from June 29-July 3.

The details

According to a press release, TxDOT will close lanes on I-35 and I-35 frontage road for column and cap work, drainage work, paving and striping.

I-35 from FM 3009 to FM 1518
  • Three mainlanes, and the exit and entrance ramp of northbound I-35 from Evans Road to Roy Richard Drive will be closed from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. June 29-July 2 for pavement, roadway and drainage work
  • There will be a full closure of Corporate Drive at the I-35 intersection from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. June 29-July 2 for bridge, column and cap work
  • There will be rolling project wide closures from 9 p.m.-3 p.m. June 30-July 2
  • The left lane on I-35 southbound frontage road from Schertz Parkway to FM 3009 will be closed until July 13 for drainage work
  • Three mainlanes and an entrance and exit ramp of southbound I-35 from Roy Richard Drive to Schertz Parkway will be closed from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. June 29-July 2 for column and cap work


I-35 from FM 1518 to Loop 1604
  • The left lane on northbound I-35 frontage road from Forum Parkway to Forum Access Road will be closed until Aug. 2 for construction work
  • The exit ramp on northbound I-35 to Evans Road will be closed until July 20 for construction work
  • There will be a full closure of northbound I-35 frontage road and the exit ramp from Forum Parkway to Olympia Parkway from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. June 29 for cap work
  • The left lane on I-35 southbound frontage road from Forum Parkway to Old Austin Road will be closed until July 14 for bridge and roadway work
  • The right land of southbound I-35 from Olympia Parkway to Loop 1604 interchange will be closed until July 14 for construction work
  • The right lane on the southbound I-35 collector distributor from Forum Parkway to Loop 1604 interchange will be closed until July 14 for construction work
  • The entrance ramp on I-35 southbound frontage road from Old Austin Road to I-35 southbound will be closed until July 1 for construction work
  • The I-35 southbound to northbound turnaround at Corporate Drive will be closed until July 13 for construction work
  • Three mainlanes on southbound I-35 from Schertz Parkway to Forum Parkway will be closed from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. June 29-July 2 for bridge deck pour, traffic shift and lane striping
  • There will be a full closure of the southbound frontage road and entrance ramp from Olympia Parkway to Forum Parkway from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. June 29-July 1 for paving and bridge deck work
  • There will be a full closure of southbound I-35 frontage road from Retama Parkway to Forum Parkway from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. June 29-July 1 for moving barrier and paving and opening for the traffic shift
  • There will be a full closure of the southbound I-35 frontage road from Forum Parkway to Gateway Boulevard from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. June 29-July 2 for column and cap work
  • There will be a full closure of southbound I-35 frontage road from Arcadia Drive to Olympia Parkway, an entrance ramp closure at Old Austin Road and a full closure on westbound Loop 1604 collector distributor at I-35 from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. June 29-July 2


Loop 1604 Interchange
  • The entrance ramp on the I-35 northbound collector distributor to I-35 northbound will be closed until July 31 for construction work
  • There will be a full closure of the northbound I-35 collector distributor at the Loop 1604 interchange from 9 p.m.-5 a.,. June 29-July 2 for drilled shaft work
  • There will be a full closure of northbound I-35 collector distributor at Loop 1604 interchange, the northbound I-35 bypass bridge at Pat Booker Road and the westbound Loop 1604 frontage road at Agora Parkway to northbound I-35 frontage road at Forum Parkway from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. June 29-July 2 for column, cap and bridge beam work
  • There will be a full closure on northbound frontage road from Olympia Parkway to Pasatiempo from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. June 30-July 2 for asphalt paving
  • There will be a full closure on the northbound mainlanes, the northbound collector distributor to the eastbound direct connector ramp at I-35 from Shin Oak to Loop 1604 from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. July 1-2 for bridge cap pour
  • There will be a long-term closure of the right lane on I-35 southbound connector ramp to Loop 1604 westbound mainlanes until July 31 for construction work
  • There will be a full closure of the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road at IKEA-RBFCU Parkway to southbound I-35 frontage road at Pat Booker Road, the eastbound Loop 1604 ramp to southbound I-35 mainlanes and the southbound I-35 collector distributor at the Loop 1604 interchange from 9 p.m.-6 a.m. June 29-July 2 for bridge deck work
  • There will be a full closure on westbound Loop 1604 collector distributor at I-35 interchange, on the southbound I-35 collector distributor at Loop 1604 interchange, the northbound and southbound I-35 ramps to westbound Loop 1604 mainlanes, the eastbound Loop 1604 ramp to northbound and southbound I-35 mainlanes, the northbound I-35 exit ramp to Olympia Parkway, the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road from IKEA-RBFCU Parkway entrance ramp to McMorris Boulevard, and IKEA-RBFCU Parkway intersection at Loop 1604 from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. June 29-July 2 for bridge column, cap, and deck work. Traffic should follow detour signs
