The details
According to city documents, the project consists of multiple improvements set to address wear and tear on the existing roadway, a lack of curbs and drainage issues near an existing low water crossing. The project will reconstruct over a mile of roadway.
Construction will include two 12- or 13-foot lanes, two curbs and two shoulders ranging up to 28 feet wide. The project will run along approximately a mile of Classen Road ,from Classen Spur to Knollcreek Drive.
Proposed improvements include:
- Adding sidewalks
- Adding curbs
- Improving and adding driveway approaches
- Adding bicycle facilities
- Constructing a multi-box drainage culvert
- Constructing an underground drainage system
The project is currently in design phase, with construction estimated to begin in winter 2026 and complete by summer 2027.
