Contractors overseeing the Loop 1604 expansion project in North San Antonio will open a new ramp and perform another closure around the I-10 interchange from June 21-24.

What you need to know

Texas Department of Transportation officials said they will open a new, permanent exit ramp at 5 a.m. June 24 for westbound travelers exiting to Bandera Road, just east of the existing ramp.

As part of the new ramp opening, the following closures will take place for striping operations:
  • Two main westbound Loop 1604 right travel lanes from Kyle Seale Parkway to Bandera Road; the left travel lane will be open
  • Loop 1604 westbound frontage road left lane from Kyle Seale Parkway to Bandera Road
  • Loop 1604 westbound exit ramp to Bandera Road
Additionally, TxDOT will permanently close the temporary Loop 1604 westbound exit ramp to Bandera Road while simultaneously opening the new, permanent exit ramp.

These overnight lane closures will take place from 9 p.m. June 21 through 5 a.m. June 24, weather permitting, according to TxDOT officials.


What else?

TxDOT officials said the following portions of the Loop 1604/I-10 interchange will be closed from 9 p.m. June 21 until 5 a.m. June 24:
  • Loop 1604 eastbound main lanes from the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp to the Lockhill Selma Road entrance ramp
  • Loop 1604 westbound main lanes at the I-10 interchange (left lane only)
  • Loop 1604 eastbound exit ramp to I-10 eastbound
  • I-10 westbound exit ramp to Loop 1604 eastbound
  • Loop 1604 westbound exit ramp to I-10 westbound
  • Cloverleaf ramps from Loop 1604 westbound to I-10 eastbound and I-10 eastbound to Loop 1604 eastbound
Additionally, this segment of roadway will be closed nightly only June 21-23:
  • The I-10 westbound frontage road between the Loop 1604 westbound frontage road and the La Cantera Parkway exit ramp
